Geohot, jailbreak iPhone 4 is now a reality!


George Hotz strikes again. The hacker was able again to overcome the security systems introduced in the new Apple iPhone 4 and has made real the dream of many new users of the iPhone by. IPhone jailbreak 4 is now a reality!
Has always been one of the characteristics that Geohot not consistently provide updates about its plans to develop new tools for the jailbreak. Maybe the guy does not like too much pressure around him or simply, as happened in the past, does not want his work to be unveiled soon.
The jailbreak iPhone 4 you can see in a little over the top in all likelihood was performed with the new tool developed by George which we do not know much. The attacker does not provide further details and did not notify a date for the official release of the tool and furthermore states: "Every person will ask when I will release the tool will only change the date in the ever more. Please note that is available on the AppStore version 4.0 of GPS EasyTrails (€ 2.39), the application that turns your iPhone into a GPS plotter. This is definitely one of the largest updates ever made for this application. EasyTrails GPS promotion is offered for EUR 2.39 until June 28, then its price will increase to 2.99 euros.

The main innovation is certainly fully support the new iPhone operating system, IOS 4. Especially now EasyTrails GPS 4 may exploit multitasking even while recording a track or do you receive a call, while listening to your favorite music or while using other applications.



But the news does not stop here. Another important update is the subsystem of reception of GPS signals, which has been greatly improved: now the signal is combined with much faster and the tracks are incredibly more accurate as you can see from this image:

Moreover, export of tracks and waypoints are simplified with the ability to export in one fell swoop and in one GPX file on the track and waypoints. Until now, returning from a trip in which they had saved the waypoint when you export the track waypoints were selected and exported individually, now, with a single tap, we can save in one file and the path is the points of interest . This new functionality is fully backward compatible, so it also works with tracks and waypoints recorded with previous versions.

Finally the number of tracks that can be stored simultaneously is increased to 250.

Save your SHSH on ios 4 by TinyUmbrella


TinyUmbrella has been updated to support iOS 4. It can now save your iOS 4 SHSH blobs regardless of whether your iDevice is jailbroken.

These devices have been tested with iTunes > 9. (Up to and including 9.2)
● iPhone 3GS
● iPod Touch 3G
● iPod Touch 2G
● iPad (No changes as 4.0 hasn't been released for iPad)

If you have an iPhone 3G you don't need to save your SHSH.

We recommend all iDevice owners follow these instructions to ensure you can downgrade to iOS 4.0 in future. This applies to those who don't jailbreak as well.

For those with an iPhone 4 semaphore notes that although I have preliminary support for iPhone4 iOS4 - you may have to rerun it after I get a hold of a restore session depending on what I find.

TinyUmbrella has been updated to support iOS 4. You can now save your iOS 4 SHSH regardless of whether your iDevice is jailbroken. See the download links to the right. (Linux support is there - just buggy - Sorry I'm working on the segfaults posixninja :P)

How to: Activate/Install iPhone OS 4 Beta without UDID registration


If you want to try the iPhone 4.0 beta, you need to have a developer’s account on Apple, and if you want install and try out the latest beta OS from Apple for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad you need to have a developer’s account on Apple. But is it Possible to Activate and Install iPhone OS 4.0 Beta without having a developer's account?
Yes, it’s possible! iH8sn0w has shown a way how you can activate and install iPhone OS 4.0 beta firmware without UDID registration on your device. Simply follow the step by step guide...


Note: We’re not responsible for any damage to your iPhone, iPod Touch by trying the above tutorial. Please try it on your own risk!



Step 1: Download a copy of the iPhone OS 4.0 Beta by searching on Google
Step 2: Install this Version with iTunes on your device (Press alt while clicking on the restorebutton in iTunes and choose the iPhone 4.0 .ipsw file manually)
Step 3: Download the redsn0w 0.9.5 BETA2 from here: redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta2
Step 4: Run redsn0w and follow the on screen instructions.
Step 5: Wait till the device reboots and wants to activate with iTunes
Step 6: Download iPhone Explorer from here: iPhone Explorer 1.1.8.3
Step 7: Open iPhone Explorer and navigate to System/Library/CoreServices
 
Step 8: Copy SystemVersion.plist to your desktop by dragging it out of the window
Step 9: Open the file with Textedit and delete the following lines
It will be Like this,


Step 10: Save the file and drag it back into iPhone Explorer, choose „overwrite“
Step 11: Wait a few seconds and restart your iPhone.

That`s it, worked fine for me. You can restore your iPhone with your saved 3.x backups. To backup from 4.0 with iTunes you need to install the latest iPhone OS 4.0 SDK (google).

How to: Downgrade iPhone 3G FW from 4.0 to 3.1.3 or 3.1.2


If you are a member of iPhone Developer Program you can go head and update your iPhone to the Next Generation Version which is iPhone OS 4.0. If you have tried OS 4 and want to get back to 3.1.3 or 3.1.2 you can follow this guide, Remember that the below step by step guide will only downgrade your FW from iPhone 4.0 to iPhone 3.1.3 or 3.1.2 or lower. It won’t downgrade your base-band. We will be using fuzzy band to downgrade your based-band.

Note: Make it on your own risk, we are not responsible for any damage for your Device, but I tried it on my device and it's working.

Steps:
Step 1: Download the firmware you want to downgrade then Download rslite.
Step 2: Now connect your iPhone to computer.
Step 3: Put your iPhone into DFU mode by using the step by step guide from Here.
Step 4: After putting your iPhone into DFU mode, iTunes will prompt a message “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode”. Click “OK”
Step 5: Then Hold down the Option Key and click Restore on your iTunes.
Step 6: Let the iTunes Restore, at the end of restore you will get error 1015.
Step 7: Now run rslite which you downloaded (it will open in terminal) and this will by pass error 1015. But if you got this message then go back to Step 3 and put your iPhone into DFU mode

Apple Mobile Device not found in Recovery or DFU
logout
Step 8: Execute the following
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
reboot
That's it, you should be now with iPhone running 3.1.3 or 3.1.2.
